Jessica Cameron’s Cross-Country Horror Project Adds Some Familiar Faces

Jessica Cameron and Jonathan Scott Higgins have re-teamed with their Truth or Dare producer Mem Ferda on their next 3 films. Ferda will serve as the sole producer on all three movies. They have cast actress Tristan Risk of the Soska Sister’s American Mary in the feature film MANIA. Actress Ellie Church of the grindhouse film, Time to Kill has also joined the production. Risk will play the role of Brooke and Church will play the role of Mel.

MANIA is one of three features in Jessica Cameron’s triple feature cross-country extravaganza. In it, Risk will play the crazed lesbian lover of Church’s character Mel. It will mark her 2nd feature as a director from a script Higgins wrote. Desolation will be the 2nd feature film and directed by Ryan M. Andrews from a script he wrote. Risk has also signed on to star as the villain in Andrews’ movie. A feature length documentary titled Kill the Production Assitant, will chronicle the making of this very ambitious project.

On Truth or Dare, Cameron and Higgins were met with difficulties trying to secure a director who could handle the gory script until Cameron finally decided to pull up her sleeves and do it herself. They, along with Ferda, met a new challenge with casting the female leads in MANIA. Numerous actresses have dropped out due to the amount of nudity in the script.

Principal photography begins on November 3rd and they will be filming all three films while traveling cross-country in an RV! The filmmakers had a campaign on their website where fans helped decide which states to film in. The top states with the most pre-orders came down to California, Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, Ohio, and Alabama. The map can be seen on the website here:

Here is what producer Mem Ferda had to say about the project:

“Storming on with many new exciting projects I will be producing. With Jessica Cameron and Jonathan Higgins as Executive Producers we are set to be a force to be reckoned with, aiming to deliver exactly what modern horror audiences crave.”

Tristan Risk has this to say about MANIA:

“As someone who self-identifies as queer, I’m also happy to have a story where the two protagonists are two women in love, and the struggles they try to overcome together. It’s a beautiful and dark story.”

Stress Position

BrinkVision is set to release the award winning, critically acclaimed, psychological experiment thriller comedy Stress Position on VOD and limited edition DVD on August 26th. Stress Position is a genre-bending film about two close friends who make a bet to see which of them can withstand a week of psychological torture at the hands of the other. Director A.J. Bond and longtime collaborator and friend, David Amito designed personalized torture regimes aimed at breaking each other’s will, but without causing any severe physical pain. Set entirely in and around an avant garde torture chamber custom built in an isolated warehouse, the film captures the surprising trajectory of the experiment from both sides of the cell as the two friends play both victim and oppressor, not to mention actor and director.

A Documentary? An Experiment? Torture Porn? What the F#*k is Stress Position?

Inspired by a flippant remark about the treatment of prisoners at Guantanamo Bay, filmmaker A.J. Bond made a bet with his close friend, actor David Amito, to see which of them could withstand a week of psychological torture at the hands of the other. What begins as a bizarre and darkly humorous experiment gradually spirals out of control, testing the limits of their friendship.

‘Kids Get Dead 2: The Kids Get Deader’ due for release June 21, 2014

kids get1

‘Kids Get Dead 2: The Kids Get Deader’ is a return to the classic midnight movie slasher genre featuring horror hostess Peaches McNeil (Samantha Glovin). It continues where part one left off.

After years of nightmares and therapy sessions Casey (Leah Rudick) sets out to find the author of a mysterious novel that foretold the brutal murder of her brother at the hands of a masked maniac.

Meanwhile it’s all boobs, blood and rock ‘n’ roll for a group of teenagers at a house party. All except for Brian (Bradley Creanzo) who is buried in Charles Carver’s (Steve Buja) latest novel.

When the crazed killer (Alexander Kollar) returns to slaughter their sexcapades with bloodsplattering similarity found within the novel Brian and Casey must struggle to unseal their own fates before it’s too late.

Are they just characters in a story living out the brutal fantasies of a mad man? Or can freewill save them from the clutches of a gruesome destiny?

2014 is a busy year for Ryan. ‘Avengers: Age of Ultron’ Filming in Norwich

Exciting news for all you Avengers fans out there. It appears that scenes for ‘Avengers: Age of Ultron’ are currently being shot in Norwich. When I arrived for a meeting this morning at the University of East Anglia’s picturesque campus I was greeted by the sight of several young men going through hair and makeup in the Lawrence Stenhouse Building. I then was informed by some of the colleagues that filming was currently taking place at the Sainsbury Centre for Visual Arts.

I made my way down to the Sainsbury Centre around noon and witnessed a giant green screen that was erected at the back of the Sainsbury Centre. Security was tight, so it was difficult to get photos, but what I saw was several young men and women running up and down in front of a green screen. They seemed to be dressed like S.H.I.E.L.D. recruits. In front of the Sainsbury Centre were several sports cars, and I could just about make out a big circled red ‘A’ painted on the interior of the building.

Star fuckers and eager autograph hunters in attendance seemed to be disappointed by lack of Hollywood A-listers. There were no sightings of Samuel L. Jackson, Robert Downey Jr. or Scarlett Johansson when I was lurking about and many people, keen to take pictures and videos of the spectacle, were left disappointed by overzealous security personnel. Later Downey Jr. was sighted just before he flew off in a helicopter.

Save Yourself

Scream Queen Jessica Cameron Set to Star in Ryan M. Andrews’ Latest Horror Film Following the success of his recent features, SICK, a festival favorite and Black Eve, currently available on DVD, award-winning director Ryan M. Andrews is set to direct his originally scripted Save Yourself this summer. Scream Queen Jessica Cameron will be starring in as well as producing this sexy horror flick along with Producer Emma Sutherland. Overseeing the project are executive producers Pino Halili and Allen Ormerod from multi-award winning studio Post City Sound Inc.

The plotline for Save Yourself is as follows: En route to L.A., director Crystal Lacroix, along with by-the-numbers producer Dawn Summerville, neurotic writer Lizzy Miller, and star sisters Kim and Sasha Tobin, are riding high after a successful screening of their new horror film. But when Crystal goes missing at a rest stop, their mood suddenly changes. The others, splitting up to search for Crystal, spot an isolated farmhouse and enlist the help of its owners, quickly discovering that appearances are not always what they seem. Life imitates art as all five ladies find themselves pitted against a deranged couple hell-bent on using them for their mysterious research. Who will survive and what will be the fate of their ultimate discovery?

Having worked together in the past, Andrews and Cameron have discussed collaborating on a feature for years. Together they decided that Ryan’s script Save Yourself is the ideal choice. Award winning actor Ry Barrett (Neverlost, Desperate Souls, Antisocial) will join the cast as Save Yourself’s intense villain. This will be the first time Andrews, Cameron and Barret have collaborated since last year’s experimental short film Klymene.

Cameron’s latest film Truth or Dare has won more than two-dozen awards playing the festival circuit. She is also known for such films as the Roger Corman produced Camel Spiders, currently airing on the SyFy channel, and Steven C. Miller’s remake of Silent Night. Save Yourself marks Cameron’s 5th movie in under a year in which she is starring as well as producing.

Cameron was recently quoted as saying “This script is the sexiest and smartest female-driven horror flick that I have had the pleasure to read and I cannot wait to bring it to life with Ryan” Talking about the female-driven story Andrews says, “I love Jean-Luc Godard’s quote ‘all you need for a movie is a gun and a girl.’ In the same way all you need for a horror is blood and a girl – and we’ve got five girls. It’s definitely going to be fun and sexy, but most importantly the women are not just one-dimensional. There is a lot of depth and development to their characters. And as a die-hard horror fan, I know just how important this is. It can’t just be another pretty face. There needs to be layers there for anyone to care when that face gets smashed.”

Filming begins later this year in Ontario, Canada. Expect more Save Yourself updates including full cast details coming soon! Please “Like” Save Yourself’s Facebook fan page and follow them on Twitter for more up-to-date information about this exciting new horror film!
